Indonesian tribe files lawsuit against mining company Freeport, claiming rights abuses
"The Jakarta Globe newspaper said the lawyers were seeking $30 billion in damages to compensate for unspecified environmental and human rights violations."
This company Freeport is a phoenix Arizona based diamond mining company based there which pays millions of dollars in taxes to the govt of Indonesia. The questions are why have the Indonesia govt and the US govt already dismissed the suit once before citing lack of evidence? We shall see if the suit moves forward.. If there are human rights abuses occurring, the govt is doing a good job covering it up there. We will keep an eye on how how this law suit goes if it goes forward........
